New Patients
We would like to welcome you to the practice for a new patient assessment. This involves a comprehensive consultation with the dentist and is a two way process. This allows plenty of time for you to address your dental concerns and talk to us about how we can help your dental health.

We will ask you to complete a medical history form. This helps to ensure that before we examine your mouth, we are aware of any important medical factors that could affect your treatment. Please bring along a list of your medications if you are currently taking any medications. We will then carry out a gentle examination of the soft tissues inside the mouth, your gums and teeth. We will also carry out a screening for cancer. We will take any necessary x-rays. All of this gives us an accurate picture of your dental health and allows us to discuss the findings of your examination. The possible treatment options will be discussed with you, including a full breakdown of the treatment costs. We will provide you with a treatment plan at the end of the appointment.

On this first visit, no treatment is usually carried out unless you are in pain or you request us to do so. You may wish to think about the options you have been given – this is fine. There is no pressure to take up dental treatment, our only wish is for you to make a fully informed decision about what is best for you. Our aim is to provide you with a good informative service and ensure that you have a pleasant experience at the practice.

If you are interested in cosmetic dentistry, tooth whitening or orthodontics with Invisalign, this can also be discussed.

It is our philosophy to ensure that patients only receive treatment or services that they want and need.

If you have any queries prior to booking an appointment or are attending for your initial consultation please do not hesitate to call us.

Children new patients
Our dental team is committed to prevention of all dental diseases, especially in our younger patients. We are experienced in dealing with younger patients, so please book your child in for their first check up as soon as teeth start to come through. We recommend regular six monthly check ups and yearly dental hygiene visits. The dentist can provide advice and treatment that can help your child keep healthy teeth for life. We aim to make your child’s experience at the practice stress-free, fun and educational.
