Stage 2 - TreatmentA root canal treatment is usually completed in one visit, although you probably will need follow up appointments. During treatment, bacteria inside the root canal is removed. Your dentist will then fill the root canal and seal the tooth with a filling or crown. This procedure is painless.
Stage 3 - Follow UpYour dentist will give you advice on post treatment care. The main thing you should notice is that the pain you were experience before the treatment should now be gone.
Root canal treatment may be necessary if your tooth has been knocked, heavily filled, cracked or decayed. If any of these instances have resulted in pain, infection or darkening of your tooth, root canal therapy may be needed.
